My wife directed me to a ruko in Jalan Mustafa No.62D. We contracted this ruko for a year. Then, in 8th September 2007, we open our internet cafe. Powered by OpenSuSE 10.2 as web, DNS and proxy server, and Mikrotik Router OS, we gave entertainments to our clients. I myself configured the OpenSuSE server and Joi Maradoni configured Mikrotik Router OS, my brothers configured the clients. Our core team are: me myself, my wife, Kujad, Boni, Joi, Hakim and about to join, Roni. And not to forget: Fitra Dana, the electrian man.
We used Telkom Speedy as ISP, DLink ADSL +2 Modem and 2 10/100 Switches (one is 8 ports and the other is 24 ports). Our network speed benchmark is 12 Mbps, serving 14 clients.
In order to gain full speed access, I did ad filtering at server-side (adzapper as squid redirector) and client-side (adzapping with adblockplus in Firefox 2.0.0.7). As bandwith limiter, my friend Joi gave 64k/32k to every single PC using Mikrotik simple queue technique. Then, in client side, I redirect browsers to use my proxy server (not transparent). So, here we are: the fastest internet cafe using Speedy ADSL.
